Keeping an eye on your heart

A familiar resting ECG shows the heart's electrical activity in two dimensions. 3D vector cardiography goes one step further: it records your heart's signals three-dimensionally, which allows a more precise assessment of your heart health – in the same calm examination you know from a resting ECG.

What the cardio check offers

• Early detection of circulatory problems: narrowings of the coronary arteries can become visible before symptoms such as chest pain or shortness of breath appear.
  - Quick, painless and straightforward: the measurement takes only a few minutes and feels exactly like a standard resting ECG.

• High blood pressure or raised cholesterol: to detect strain on the heart muscle early.
  - Stress at work or at home: as a check during lasting physical or mental strain.
  - A family history of heart disease: if heart disease or heart attacks have occurred among close relatives.
  - Athletes and active people: as a safety check before taking up new sporting activities.

Fees

The cardio check is an individual health service (IGeL) and is billed according to the German scale of medical fees (GOÄ):

• Vector cardiographic examination, 3D analysis (GOÄ 657): €26.54
  - Additional resting ECG (GOÄ 651): €26.54
  - Medical advice and discussion of the findings (GOÄ 1 / 70): €16.08
  - Total, as a guide: approx. €69.16
