Spirometry

Spirometry

Spirometry (also known as the "small lung function test") is the most commonly used method for examining lung function. It measures how much air you can inhale and exhale and how quickly air flows out of the lungs when exhaling.

Why is the examination performed?

We use this test primarily:
• To diagnose respiratory diseases such as asthma or COPD.
• To monitor the success of a therapy.
• To check lung performance before surgery.
• To determine the causes of shortness of breath or chronic cough.
